When a personal pronoun is the direct object of a sentence, it takes the accusative form. Most change, but sie (she/they) and es (it) stay the same.

💡 Confusing ich/mich? Think of 'I vs me' in English: 'I see him' / 'He sees me'. Same logic: ich (subject) vs mich (object).
