Ein, eine, ein — Unbestimmte Artikel
The indefinite article (a/an) in German changes with gender and — importantly — changes in the accusative case for masculine nouns. This is the first case change you need to master.
Masculine nominative: ein Mann
Masculine ACCUSATIVE: einen Mann ← the -en ending is new!
Feminine nominative + accusative: eine Frau (no change!)
Neuter nominative + accusative: ein Kind (no change!)
Plural: no indefinite article (use viele, einige, or no article)
✅ Only masculine changes in accusative: ein→einen. This is the most common case mistake.
sehen = accusative context. einen Mann (masc acc → -en).
💡 A quick check: is the noun being DONE TO (is it the object of an action)? If yes → accusative. Only masculine changes. Practice with: 'Ich habe einen/eine/ein...'
