Using Adjectives After 'sein'

After 'sein' (to be), adjectives have NO ending

Ich bin freundlich (NOT freundliche)

Er ist zuverlässig (NOT zuverlässiger)

Sie sind fleißig (NOT fleißige)

This is called the PREDICATE ADJECTIVE — it comes after the verb

Jemanden beschreiben — Describing Someone

Mein Vateristein sehrgeduldigerMann.
ENMy father is a very patient man.
Sie isteinefreundlicheLehrerin.
ENShe is a friendly teacher.

Notice: When the adjective comes BEFORE the noun, it needs an ending. We'll cover adjective endings fully in Module 3.
